Throttle linkage...

tomorrow I am replacing my stock intake manifold and 2 bbl carb with a new edelbrock carb and performer manifold.
will the throttle linkage most likely lineup or might i have to change it?
the engine is a smallblock v8 (305).

...

is this just one of those questions that defies answering?

i'm not looking for a guarantee in writing.. i just wanna know if the throttle linkage in a '69 C/10 *should* match an Edelbrock carb...

Anybody even care to venture a guess?

The throttle rod should line up and be long enough. You will probably have to adjust it longer. There should be a hole in your carb linkage for the trunion. The only question that I have would be if a bushing were needed or not.

Did same thing on a 68. The rod linkage may require small adjustment, but if original, it'll be threaded to accomodate adjusting. You may have to drill the hole in the linkage on the carb a little larger to accomodate the trunnion. As close to a slam dunk as it gets (as long as your linkage parts are OE)

I had to drill out my throttle linkage to mount up my Performer carb. Mine was originally a V-6 truck and I asume the rod is original being how pathetic the last owner was.
There is quite a range of useable space on that rod, i was even able to use the stock small block one on my caddy swap.
