Tremec TKO swap

okay so im thinking of putting a tremec TKO in my truck. at the moment it is an automatic trans but i have a high hump for the floor so as far as that goes im safe. what im needing to know is more info on doing the actual swap. the website says any bellhousing off a 4 speed gm will work. id like to go with a hydro clutch of coarse and i dont know exactly what i need as id imagine there are different styles of bellhousings and clutches. im a noob haha. also will i need to lengthen my driveshaft ? aaaaand what do i have to do as far as putting the clutch pedal in as i have never done this (holes to drill etc) , thanks for anyone who can help !

Look for brake/clutch pedals from a 87-91 for hydraulic or use 73-86 and convert to hydraulic using a wilwood or tilton 3/4 master. Make sure you use a car bellhousing not a truck. Pedals are a simple swap. Very straight forward.

1 Attachment(s)
use a hydro throwout bearing

and if you use a truck housing youll need to buy or make a ring like this one, as the holes are different sizes.

Re: Tremec TKO swap

^^^what he said. The hole on the truck belhousing is too big for any of your performance transmissions. If you went with an aftermarket steel belhousing they only come with the small hole, as far as I know. You can avoid all this and the expense of the TKO, belhousing and everything else and find a T56. Yes it's not a TKO but is a lot cheaper. I found one from a 95 camaro at pic-a-part not long ago and paid $185 out the door. My early flywheel was $500 but you can find them for less. I used the old camaro clutch, came with a Hurst shifter, got a nice hurst stick on ebay for $30. Stock pedals, old used wilwood master. All in and now 20,000 miles ( its my daily driver) I don't have more than $800 into the trans total. Whats a TKO gona run $3500 +?

Almost forgot, $38 for f***ing clutch cover (pressure plate) bolts! Only ARP makes them and they r torque yeld one time use bull****.
