reproduction factory 6 cyl a/c brackets
for those that are tired of all the small blocks and think the inlines are cool:
what interest would there be for replica gm 6 cyl a/c brackets. mid 60's vintage. i prefer the factory look myself - (even if modified i prefer the modification to look like a factory install vs an aftermarket affair. it looks more professional that way) in the past i've had to use a later block (integral head), switching the head of course, and use the gm r-4 setup. i now have a set of original a-6 brackets i am toying with reproducing if there is an interest. |
Re: reproduction factory 6 cyl a/c brackets
Which inline 6 cyl series are you looking at?
1. - 216/235/261 2. - 230/250 3. - 292 or all three series? |
Re: reproduction factory 6 cyl a/c brackets
Don't forget the 194!

Re: reproduction factory 6 cyl a/c brackets
mid 60's
194-292 don't know about the 235-probably not |
Re: reproduction factory 6 cyl a/c brackets
The 194-250 were the same block height, but had slight differences in size. The 292 has a much taller block height and is bigger. 194-250 in certain year may have been the same block I am not sure. The 235 and 261 shared the same side covers....Though I will say that repro-brackets would be cool! :chevy:

There`s no different diagram in the instruction book for 292. 1964 got a Cast Bracket? https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-g...no/image13.jpg |

Re: reproduction factory 6 cyl a/c brackets
The 292 was only produced with an alternator in all production years as far as I know so what I was getting at was the bolt holes in the block and I believe the a/c is mounted on the other side? But the 194-250 were the same. But the 292 is a whole different block, 2 inches taller on the side covers do to the 4.120 stroke. But could I get a picture of the factory version? I'm interested in seeing? Thanks. T.J.:chevy:

Re: reproduction factory 6 cyl a/c brackets
well that tells me what i wanted to know. it's not worthwhile reproducing oem a/c brackets
|
Re: reproduction factory 6 cyl a/c brackets
Reproducing Power Steering brackets for the 250's and the 292's might yield bigger interest.
