Headers and burnt plug wires
I'm running a small block w/ Vortec heads and a HEI ignition.Have a set of coated Hooker comp headers. The 3rd plug wire back on the drivers side is a B----. All others run great with a 90 degree boot up to a wire loom running on top of the valve cover. The only way I can route the problem plug is straight out and over the header to the loom with a heat sheild sock in it. I'd like to run a good set of wires and was wondering if anyone knows of a set that come with more than one boot style so I could build 7 w/ 90 degree boots and one with the straight boot. Anyone else have this problem?? Heating or bending the header is out because they are coated.

Get the MSD wires. They have bendable boots so you can make 'em the way you want.

I'm running MSD now but must have wrong ones. Do you know a model ##. I can't tell which ones are which. Thanks

I use MSD wires and Coated Hooker super comp headers to with out any problem. Here is what I'm using. Just a little more info, the wire looms I'm using make it easy to twist the wire out of the way so they don't come close to the header.
Here is a couple of pics and part numbers. MSD "Under header" plug wires and the RNM-1101P wire looms. The wires are for points style cap and 90 degree boots at both ends. |
