Top radiator hose not hot
Well I took my truck for a ride to the store came back wanted to adjust the idle speed a little. Well I touched to top radiator hose it wasn't hot or even warm. I just put a new water pump on in July. It was fine a couple months ago It got hot during warm up now nothing. What could it be????

Re: Top radiator hose not hot
How long was the truck running for? If the upper Rad hose is not hot.... The thermostat is not open. So it is either Stuck Shut OR your motor just wasn't warm enough to open

Re: Top radiator hose not hot
It was running for like 20-25 min. Also not sure but just checked coolant level in radiator it's like 6 inches from top..

Re: Top radiator hose not hot
There is a chance that you have a leaking head gasket and the water is being pulled into the cylinders. If you go to a radiator shop, there is a test that they can do, to see if you have carbon monoxide in your coolant system. This would tell you if there is a leak. Been there, seen that.

Re: Top radiator hose not hot
you don't really want to check the fluid level when it is completely cold but it does sound a bit low. top it off and run it. see what happens.

Re: Top radiator hose not hot
I hope it's not a head gasket. I do notice during startup sometimes there's some white smoke.

Re: Top radiator hose not hot
White smoke means either they elected a new pope or your head gasket(s) are shot.

Re: Top radiator hose not hot
Even if the white smoke is only during startup/warmup not while driving ?

Re: Top radiator hose not hot
Whats the engine temp running at when warmed up?
