68 side marker light bulbs
What is the number bulb do I use on the side marker lights on a 68? Looks like the number on the one remaining bulb is 189?
My local autoparts store cant look up anything this old. Thanks Paul |

1968 truck side markers were not lighted.

Strange. There is a a wiring harness and bulb sockets in all four corners.

Re: 68 side marker light bulbs
Mine are lighted as well (1968 gmc burb) I cant get my bulb part out though to read it. I tried looking in the owners manual but didnt see a 189 just a 1895. If I get more time later on ill pull the other side marker off and see if I can get the bulb out.

168 or 194 is what should fit :metal:

Re: 68 side marker light bulbs
The 5 must be the missing digit on the bulb I took out making it 1895. A closer look at the wiring shows that the front marker lights were added rather crudely but the rears look like an additional harness was added to jump from the tail lights to the markers.
Not sure I'll put them back in. The rear marker light lenses were melted from the heat of the bulb. Maybe I'll use part of the 70 harness when I swap bodies. Thanks for pulling the bulb out of your Suburban. Paul |
