steering shimmy

Hey guys, 2000 Silverado. 265-75-16 Kelly safari TSR tires

at around 30 - 35mph only, my steering wheel slightly shimmies left and right. it doesn't do it below 30, and also doesn't do it on the highway.

I asked the oil change shop to rotate the tires, but he said I just rotated them recently and the problem sounds more like an alignment or tie rod issue.

any have this happen? any opinions?

Re: steering shimmy

the steering rack ends wear out. They are replaceable. I just replaced these and the tie rod ends on my 2002 1500. Jack a front wheel up, grab the tire and rock it back and forth. If there is any play, then they are worn.
