I have a 68 chevy P/U. I was told that I have a 81-84 350 engine, My alternator is on the Pass. side. Is the AC compressor on the drivers side. Looking for info, Thanks

AC is on the drivers side of my 83 ;)

Re: Alternator/ AC question
I'm mostly an electrical man, not so much a motor man, but I think all the accessories can be swapped to their original locations. So an 81 motor may still have 1968 brackets and accessory locations. And the motor year certainly hasn't changed your AC condensor location, so you're going to need the proper hoses to connect to that.

Re: Alternator/ AC question
So it is possible to to use the older brackets to switch the location of the alternator and the a/c??
I have a TPI set up and I hate the look of the a/c hoses going over it..I'd rather not go with the serpentine setup if I don't have to. |
Re: Alternator/ AC question
My 68 alternator has the serpentine bell but the power steering has the single belt set up. I will check out some of the car shows this coming year to see their set up. I'm having trouble finding drivers side set up,long water pump & headers. Good thing that I have about 5 months to work with. I'm with you, don't like the hoses going over.

Re: Alternator/ AC question
I saw a bracket to mount the a/c down low on the drivers side..It uses the fuel pump location as a mounting point.

Re: Alternator/ AC question
Give Alan Grove Components a call. All they do is accessory brackets.
