6 Cyl Help
I have a customer that brought in an 81 C10 with a 250 6 cyl that was just rebuilt and he wants me to get it running. The problem is all the emission stuff is in the passenger floorboard and I could use some pics on where everything goes. There was also a little bag with 2 brass tubes that look like inserts to something. Anyone have an idea where they go? I will post pics as soon as I can.

Re: 6 Cyl Help
You can run without the emission stuff, the humps on the valve cover are held on with some weak spot welds that can easily be broken, when the humps are removed you are left with two open holes one for a breather another for a pcv ad the with the lines going to the block from the valve cover you can cut the thin metal off at the bolt and weld it closed and you will end up with a pretty sharp looking engine we did it one mine and it worked great

The customer want it back stock. I figured out the air tubes but am possibly missing the parts for the pcv. Anybody have any pics with the air cleaner off?

What parts do you think your missing?

Hope this works. And BTW there's a difference depending on year or 3/4 ton. This is not my truck, found this somewhere, but it's similar. Note the PCV valve in the top, the steel lines into the risers, and the wild goofy double line set up on the passenger side.
If you depserately need more pics I can go try to get some of my 81. Don't rmeember if the motro swap kept all the emissions stuff, think it did, IIRC it's stil the 2bbl carb. Also have an 84 that I think is stil complete. Understand these are in a 4' snow drift and it's 5 degress out.... so my enthusiasm is somewhat lacking. |

Yeah it's not good to pump all that crap back into the motor

Re: 6 Cyl Help
I agree but the customer wants what the customer wants. I have the four air tubes in place but that leave one hole in the head near the carb and I have no idea what goes there. Some parts are missing. He had someone else start the job then it was towed here for me to straighten out.
