PROBLEM with Driver Window not wanting to roll up

Took the door panel off my driver side door to see why my window won't roll up, and here is what I'm experiencing.

*as soon as i start to attempt to roll the window up, the door bulges where the window crank is. I can only get a quarter turn out of it and it feels like i might bust the window if I go any further.

Is this a simple fix of just replacing the window crank or do I have a bigger problem? If it's just a window crank I need to order, who should I get it from? Thanks in advance.

You'll probably need to pull the regulator and see if it works when it's out.

I had a similar problem, but it turned out to be the glass binding on really worn window run channel.

so that means the vent window must come out AGAIN, that sure was a pain when putting my new ones in. then take out the door glass as well. gonna need some patience when I attemp this task.

Could also be the third guide wheel. Before I replaced the regulator I had the same basic problem. The wheel broke off and the guide would jump off track and get bound up.

Re: PROBLEM with Driver Window not wanting to roll up

If a roller breaks the flat spot it creates wedges its self into the track.

As far as window installation, it used to give me fits too til i figured it out.

1. Remove bolts at bottom of rear glass guide.
2. Loosely install regulator in door with 2 bolts
3. Crank window regulator all the way up til rollers stick up through opening.
4. Slide glass channel onto rollers from outside truck
5. Crank window down and install remainder of all attachment bolts loosely.
6. Roll window up and down to ensure it doesnt bind
7. Tighten bolts

Note: I have never done this with the horizontal window felts/ rubbers installed. I pit them in last.

Sounds like a good plan. 100% wont work with the channel felt in there. Do you loosen up the vent window? Mine wont clear the regulator and did I ever try.

Sorry. I forgot to include that the vent window assay has to be out. It goes in last.

I had a problem with my window sticking when rolled all the way up, broke a couple Auto zone window cranks rolling the thing down after installing new window felt. The inside track just below the door lock wasn't exactly lined up with the track on the back/ outside top of the door. I cut about 6" of the felt off and the problem went away. When up the window sits in enough felt so that it doesn't rattle when down the glass doesn't contact that area of channel any way just don't take any above the bottom of the window seal so theirs no air leak.

you cant put too much lube on the spring and all the rest of the moving parts
that spring will bind things up and like RL said the rear guide on the window can use some lube too

I also find that the window felts bind up.I took some clear silicone lube(Remember foosball rod lube?) and sprayed the felt. That helped my windows a lot.If you have new felts in there, try it.Always go for the low hanging fruit first.
