Rear disk brake conversion on Power nation
Hey,
I was watching Power Nation/Detroit Muscle yesterday and they converted to rear disk on a TA 10 bolt 8.5 by using the brake backing plate from a 98-02 Camaro with a 1/8" spacer, Has anyone done this with the truck 10 bolt? http://www.powernationtv.com/episode...t-differential |
Re: Rear disk brake conversion on Power nation
I would doubt that the bolt pattern of the backing plate is the same?

Re: Rear disk brake conversion on Power nation
I've got a 2000 Camaro rear disc setup that was going on a previous project that got sold. Been thinking about swapping them to my 66. I'm pretty sure it's not a direct bolt on as said above. However, Moser Engineering makes a housing end that will fit the axle tubes so that it can bolt on. You also gain the Ford style bearing retention so you also don't have to worry about breaking a c-clip on the axles.
This is all "in theory" of course as I haven't done it yet myself ... |
