84 chevy k10 350 motor?

I got this truck in spring and have been restoring it has a 350 v8 with a 4 barrel I think its a LT9. Mainly stock except a edelbrok air cleaner, summit headers, and a high flow dual exhaust I looked up the specs on it and it comes in at a whopping 165 HP HAHA seems a bit low for that kind of engine dosent it? When I step on the gas it barely dose anything is this normal for this engine? What are some good upgrades for this engine that i will see some HP out of I already have a edelbrok intake manifold for it just didn't put it on yet.:waah::chevy:

It sounds pretty stock, these motors didn't have a lot of power stock, I'm about to do a ls swap in mine, if you wanna free up some easy horses with bolt ons, I'd go with a intake (possibly a carb), electric fans, good tune up, I'd also check out those gears...you probably have 3.08's...not good for get up and go

A stock low compression engine always needs a better tune (dizzy recurve 'n new quality parts), headers and a great exhaust, a good tuned carb (not stock necessarily) better heads and a better cam for sure. Even tho' you are starting with a low comp engine - it is a 350 that can be made to run without replacing it with a crate. Easily ..

A dizzy recurve first and foremost, then headers (or you'd better change the cam to a custom made can immediately to compensate for a ****ty exhaust).

You may be buying gears too - to help a 4,xxx lb + truck get out of it's own way. That really depends on what you want out of the truck !
It can still look stock and run like stock without a cam lope if that's what you want
