Auto To Manual Trans What Do I Need??

Ok I got a 1986 gmc Sierra k2500 350 700r4 trans np208 transfercase 8ft box 4x4.
I would like to switch it over to a manual 5speed with hydrolic slave cylinder.
I'm just not sure I what truck I should look for for this swap? And what transmission/t-case and crossmember I would need?

For a 5 speed. Your two main options are the nv3500 from an S-10 or 1/2 ton. Or the nv4500 from a 3/4 or 1 ton. Both from the 90's

I'd rather go nv4500 or if I have to go 4speed I will.

1985-91 CK RV have hydraulic clutch pedals.
The 85-91 CK RV cabs have dimples on the firewall for the Clutch master cylinder. Prior to that you'll need to improvise.

You can adapt or buy a mechanical clutch bellhousing for the NV4500 but it's not as easy as adapting the cab to a hydraulic clutch pedal setup.

I swapped from a th400 to the sm465. I like it. As long as I don't have to drive in busy traffic.
