Re: 79 Suburban K20 Resto&Mod
Inspiring pictures, I am going to lift of my Suburban's body too one day.
I have no garage lift like you though, only a tractor as help, and I can't lift in the roof I am assuming. I love the amount of pictures, keep it coming! Have you seen where the other two vin code places are at on the frame? They are supposed to be hidden close to the body on top of the frame. Re: 79 Suburban K20 Resto&Mod
Yes Chevak20, there are VIN Codes on the Top of the Frame :-)
I have also no lift in my Garage, the Body will be done by a Shop, i have no Capacity for this work, so i have only the Engine Lifter in my Garage :-) In Sweden would be nice to have a Suburban, so much space for Offroading, in AUstria it's difficult to find some Offroad Area :-/ |

Re: 79 Suburban K20 Resto&Mod
Maybe one of you can help me with my swap questions, i want to connect the original mechanical gauges to the LQ4, so can i use the the sensors from the old 350 with an adapter on the LQ4 or do the PCM need the signals from Oil pressure and coolant temp?
So maybe there are some other positions that i can use for these 2 sensors? For Oil Pressure can i use the block off plate above the oil filter? (Tap a 1/8 NPT Thread in it?) And for coolant temp find some position on the cylinder head? |
Re: 79 Suburban K20 Resto&Mod
Yes you use either an adapter or tap the existing hole. This Thread may help
