Does anyone have any experience with fabricating this bend/lip? Oh and dont worry... Thats not my cab corner work. Soon to be replaced. Thanks.

I don't know if a panel flanger will give enough offset or not. You might check it out. Do you have a H-frame press? If so you could make a fixture to form that.

I had to fix that area on both sides of my cab. I used a pair of vise-grips that had 5 inch pieces of steel plate welded to the jaws. I then used this to clamp onto my sheetmetal patch and use it as a bending break. I worked from the top bend down to the bottom bend, used my vise to clamp the tool into as I pushed and hammered the bends. Took my time, adjusted and tweaked each piece as I went, and then did the final cut to fill the hole.
I think they turned out very well. |

Looks good. I'm going to try my hand at it. If it doesn't work...maybe i'll look for a parts cab and cut that out. Wish me luck!

Re: Cab rear lip
I have a cab I am cutting up with rust free corners and would sell a pair with those pieces.

Re: Cab rear lip
Would you have something like that left on the cab? And maybe part of the driver side firewall? Thanks.

Re: Cab rear lip
Ok! Now that someone has this issue I know I am not the only one!!! But if you look under the cab right were the damage to the lip is done you will see some kind of floor support. It is running parallel with that lip. How do I fix that and is it a floor support?
