Heavy front and rear springs?

I've searched a lot of threads and I am not sure I've found my answer. So here is my question I have a 72 LWB 1/2 ton 350 the spid says I have heavy front and rear coil springs. I want to lower the truck not sure how much yet as I don't want carrier bearing problems and may still need to carry yard stuff from time to time. Can I swap the springs out for standard lowering spring or do I need something special?

Thats a good question...seems like I read somewhere that the factory HD springs are the same as 3/4 ton springs, but I cant say for sure.

I have done lots of research and I think I am going to get 1/2 ton lowering springs for the front and 3/4 ton lowering springs for the rear to retain towing/hauling capabilities.

You may have to ask over in the suspension section for more/better info.

My SPID listed heavy springs front and rear. I used normal lowering springs from ECE and have no issues.

Go with the CPP solid aluminum carrier bearing and you will never have issues again. It's far superior to the stock carrier bearings. I went through 2 stock ones, and have had zero issues with this one.
