Front drum removal

1970 k5 drums all around

Got the hub lock out. Two spindle nuts, a spring and the front bearing. Thought for sure the drum would pop off by now. I am missing a spring clip somewhere?

Sounds like you need to adjust the shoes in. Can you feel the shoes grabbing in the drums?

Yep that is what it was. Just afraid to pull on it. I actually yanked until I broke the shoes loose. Not a big deal since I'm replaceing them anyway. But. How do you adjust the shoes in??

Should be a slot in the backing plate near the bottom. With it all apart you should be able to see where you could slide in a screwdriver and turn the adjuster wheel in the opposite direction and loosen the shoes.
