7042911 Restored 1972 350 California 4spd
4 Attachment(s)
This is a 1972 Chevrolet 350 California Rochester quadrajet carb that will fit Chevy 327 and 350 engine quadrajet intake manifolds. The difference between this carb and the 49 state carb is an extra vac port that I believe goes to the airpump muffler assembly. This port is above the fuel line inlet. A thick insulator mounting gasket is provided for 1970 and later intakes.
This carb was done by the Carb doctor who has over 40 years experience rebuilding carburetors and has done thousands. This carb has just been restored and is ready to install. The rebuilding extras include NEW bronze bushings installed in base. ALL rebuilt quadrajets should have this done. The bases are aluminum and the shaft bores wear and cause poor idle and vacuum leaks. All NEW primary throttle plates are installed. They are also aluminum and wear out. The secondary air valve cams are plastic. This lifts the metering rods when the secondary’s open. They wear out or break causing a lean wide open. All NEW air valve cams are used in these rebuilds. New float installed. The main well fuel plugs are MT13 sealed. Other sealers will not hold up to today’s fuels and will leak. The accelerator pump cups are fluorelastomer and are blue in color. They are the only pump cups that will withstand today’s fuel additives. The black pump cups are no good and will swell or shrink. All NEW choke pulloffs. The secondary throttle plates are DAG213 sealed for a good quadrajet idle quality. The top and body are chemically color bond 420 dichromated. The aluminum base is restored with a two part cleaning process that brings the aluminum back to the original finish. No silver paint or wire buffing is used. The bottom of base is then machined flat to prevent any potential warpage. The screws and linkage are yellow zinc plated. No rusty parts here. Carbs are tested on their machine that uses a pressure gauge and fuel meter. This assures no leaks and a good pump stream for the accelerator. A mounting gasket and an air cleaner gasket are included. You will not be disappointed. 7042911 Fedex Ground Shipping with INSURANCE is included. $285 shipped to Conus Attachment 1268565 Attachment 1268566 Attachment 1268567 Attachment 1268568 |

Wow....very nice and interestingly, the exact right carb for my (California) truck....hmmm.
If my original carb was not running great, I'd be all over this...hmm. Again, very nice carb. Did you buy it then not have an application for it? or go to an Edelbrock or Holley? Coley |
Re: 7042911 Restored 1972 350 California 4spd
I have had a number of carbs done by Bob over the years from quadrajets, 3x2 tri power setups for my GTO's. Most good cores are $50 so the rebuild is basically $225 and run fantastic. Shipping may be more to Canada :)

Re: 7042911 Restored 1972 350 California 4spd
FYI, I dealt with Bob a few times, great guy. But, realize that he will build the carbs back to spec for a stock Chevy engine. If you are looking to create more HP by adding different items onto the motor, there is a high possibility that the carb will need to be adjusted with different Jets and/or the rods in order to meet your motors A/F (Air / Fuel) ratio for peak performance.
I had to do that on the last carb that I got form him, it purrs very well and runs like a scared jack rabbit - no problems. |
