help with broken wheel stud

I just broke one of the studs on one of my front hubs. I have a 72 4x4 Jimmy with disc brakes in the front. Could someone please give me some simple instructions for changing the stud? I am having new wheels and tires mounted in the morning. The tire place won't change the stud. I am trying to paint some of the hub area before the new wheels and tires. Thanks in advance for your help.

there is no easy way you have to disassemble the entire hub and pound out the stud with a punch and hammer.

Once you get the old stud out, you can "pull" the new stud into place by using a regular wheel nut. If you put on a couple of greased up washers, screw the nut on with the taper out and then tighten the nut up and you can pull the stud into place. I use an impact wrench to speed it up.
