1964-66 chevy and gmc over the windshield rust repair panel
 

I just happened to be looking around the web last night and found the 1964-66 front inner roof panel (over the windshield) repair panel.it is a new reproduction and I thought I would pass this info along to everyone.autobody specialties carries this panel.i am not endorsing nor do I work for them.i just ran across the panel and thought I would pass it on.i know this is a tough area to repair and maybe this panel will help put some of the rougher cabs back on the road.thanks

I agree 2 months ago a good portion of that panel can be used for 60-63s

The one for the outside above the windshield would be a great one to have. Around here it would save a bunch of cabs.

they already make that one its been available for some time now.it fits pretty decent.

i think the cause of the rust over the windshield is from the caulking going bad around the drip rails letting water in between the panels holding moisture and never really drying out causing the rust.it also doesn't help that the metal between the roof panel and the headliner panel is bare steel on the inside.

That is one reason but a lot of the trucks sit in a field or barn, mice get up in there and build nests, then urinate in the far side of the nest when its cold. this is why the inside would rot and not the outside on some.

Either way, this is a good piece for saving some cabs!

Would this panel work for a 60-63 cab also, anyone have any experience repairing this area.

I haven't used this panel, but have looked at it for interchange, the inner panel ha a little different shape at the roof pillars, but along the top of the windshield it appears to be the same. since you are going to be in there cutting/welding I don't see where you couldn't make this work on the early cab.
as far as I can tell the outer piece is the same 60-66

nobody has used this on a 60-63 cab yet, I just bought this panel today so will see what it looks like in a few weeks, if anyone has used this panel and knows what needs to be changed to make it work.
