Anybody know if the crossmember (the one the control arms attach to) on a 1972 c20 is identical to a 1970 c20?

I don't think there are any important differences in the crossmember

Might be brakeline tabs on the 72 model that aren't there on the 70 model. They're interchangeable.

So the control arms from a 72 c20 should bolt right on to the 70 crossmember?

No drilling, no alterations to the 70 crossmember?

Thats great to hear. All my study of the issue has made me come to that conclusion also. But until we bolt the control arms on I still feel nervious about it.

No problem. Just FYI.... later arms (73-87) bolt up to the older x-members as well as older arms (63-72) bolt up later x-members.

The big changes were later x-members had disc brakes from the factory & used larger dia u-bolts for lower shafts & HD trucks have larger dia upper shaft studs.
