Carpet and Insulation question...

I bought a new carpet from NPI and it came with a 3/8" layer of insulation on it. I pulled the stock carpet up and there was about 3/4" worth under there. Should I go ahead and add more or will that 3/8" be enough? Just looking for some experience.

I have no experiece with Nifty, but we sell it here at work, and I was curious how well it looks.

If your going to take the carpet out, I would strip the floor down and put all new padding in. Before I put the padding down, I would put in a layer of dyna-mat or some other sound deadening material to help make the cab more solid, and kill some road noise...

It's already stripped out so I've thought about the Dynamat....I just ordered up some padding so I should be set when I get both down in the cab.

If you already have it stripped, your almost there then. I would put something down first. May as well get the back of the cabb while you are at it. I haven't done one yet, but when my Blazer starts going back together I'm going to sound deaden the snot out of it....

Now Ken, you are starting to sound like Chris. :)

Do you really think this is a reality??

I think both you guys trucks have been down and out for as long as I've known you both. I remember Capt telling me the fall before the first truck show in Pigeon Forge I went to, he would be driving Su to the show. Yeah right. :D

Mike, all I can say is "It ain't me". I am normally the blame behind my projects moving slow because I just don't have the time to do it myself anymore. Once I got past the pride issue, and started farming it out, I "assumed" things would move faster. Not really!

While it's true more things have been done than I could have done to it, it's still moving very slow. I plan to change that pace soon though.

If I can ever get the guy to finish what he started at the shop where it's at, the Blazer is going to another shop really soon. This should increase the pace... I said should....;)

OUCHIE!!! Progress is slow on my side, but it is all my fault. I am working on them both though. The Jimmy got new brakes in front this past weekend and hopefully new shocks by this weekend. I even cleaned off the motor mounts for the 454 to set it in the frame, just have to find some more stuff that needs POR15 so I can paint them.

Hmmm? Does that mean the 454 is going in the Jimmy? What's up with that?
