88-94 c1500 gauge disassembly

Have any of you fellas taken one apart before and successfully put it back together? If not, is there a place that can break into it to change the mileage to match what my truck has now?
I recently acquired a gauge cluster that comes with the Tachometer and would love to install it and have it reflect my mileage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Have a great week guys!

Yup... I replaced the light bulbs...... place the panel on a static-safe surface.

A manual shows the screws...... or just do it..... a couple layers / of a panel, starting from the rear side.

Not tough to do...

Ok so I don't even have to take the gauge face off, just come in from the back side with those screws and it should come apart

Uh, yea.... sort of..... :uhmk:

You can clean the inside clear plastic while you're at it

Once it's out, you can remove the (3?) 'levels' of boards.... I think there's a couple little harness plugs..... You'll expose all the bulbs if you wish to replace 'em...... I remember you will get to the mileage counter at some point.

Watch where the gear selector cable connects to the column/shifter barrel. ( it just pushes on the edge, kinda like a elec. connection..... there will be a worn spot.
