64 k10 front axle swap
So i have a 64 k10 and want to make it an 8 lug. I have a 14 bolt for the rear and want to get a dana 44 or 60 up front with disk brakes my question is what will be a direct bolt in? I know the later model chevy dana 44 should bolt right in but what about a chevy dana 60? and how about the early dodge axles?

Re: 64 k10 front axle swap
3/4 ton chev up to 87 and 91 in c/cabs and suburbans
that is what I put in mine ron |
Re: 64 k10 front axle swap
A Dana 44 from '70-'79 or a 8.5" 10 bolt from '80-'91. A GM Dana 60 SRW should bolt right up as well. The Dodge Dana 60's are slightly narrower than the GM version. I don't remember if the spring perches are the same width or not. It seems like they are different? I can measure mine tomorrow. The Dodge Dana 60's have a puny yoke on them compared to a GM Dana 60

Re: 64 k10 front axle swap
Dodge spring perch centers are a 1/2" wider than Chevy.
Chevy single wheel 60's are bolt in I have one in my 63. |
