Brake Booster
 

I'm looking for a brake booster that will work on a 62 C10 with 4 wheel drums and factory pedal assembly. Any help would be great..

The booster and master from a '67-'70 C10 will bolt up with the addition of my brake booster bracket. The for sale thread for both '60-'62 booster brackets are in my sig line. Will you be converting to an auto trans or are you keeping the manual trans?

Thanks Captainfab, I already have an auto trans in her. When I bought the truck it came with power brakes but since the booster has gone bad and its hard to find the same one that worked before. Thanks I will look at those setups and see if I can make them work.

Captianfab, You wouldn't have a pic of how the pedal connects with the booster set up your showing with your bracket? I'm curious how the pedal attaches to the booster rod? Thanks

Regardless of which booster you use the pushrod will need to be lengthened to reach the brake pedal arm. Take a look at how ChiefRocka lengthened his starting at post #342 on this page.

There are a couple other ways to lengthen the pushrod, but welding it together is the simplest.

Thanks for the input Captianfab, Another issue Ive ran into is the angle of the booster rod. When I connect the rod to the pedal the rod is at an angle and isnt depressing straight. Thats with the original bolt hole. Do you have any ideas?

More than likely the pushrod angle will be different with my booster bracket than with whatever setup you have now. It is recommended to drill a new hole in your brake pedal arm, 1" lower that the original hole.

Thanks for your help CaptainFab. I just had a random thought and maybe you could answer it for me. Do you need a proportioning valve with a 4 wheel drum setup to have power brakes?

No prop valve needed with 4 wheel drums.
