Spark Issues
When I was working on my 72 C10 the other day I noticed some of my spark plug wires were resting on the manifold. Some were semi melted and one was melted through all the way. The truck ran smooth without issues. I decided to switch out the spark plugs as well since I was going to change out the wires anyway.
So I swapped out the wires and spark plugs, making sure I methodically put each wire in the correct spot on the distributor several times. When I tried to start it, it would crank but not turn over. Everything worked just fine prior to me changing the wires and plugs. I decided to see if I was getting spark and sure enough I wasn't. Did I mess something up without knowing it just by changing those two things? I'm very confused how I don't have spark all of sudden. Suggestions? Thanks |
Re: Spark Issues
If you're not getting any spark my first thought would be you knocked a wire loose coming from the ignition system. It's possible that it could be your cap and rotor. They can go out. If it's an hei it could be a bad module.
Check to see if that wire came loose from the spade connector on the distributor. |
