Running coil overs, and coil springs?
I just bought the coilover kit from ride tech for the front of my 67. My budget just took a hit because I just had to put a trans in my Acadia. A $3000 hit!!! So for the rear of my truck I was thinking about buying the cpp rear suspension kit with 5" drop springs to save me some money. I've heard the 5" drop springs can be a bit mushy. Do you think the truck will handle weird with coil overs in the front and coil springs in the rear?

Re: Running coil overs, and coil springs?
I see no problem with that, I'd at least run Ridetechs shocks on the back. Obviously the full coilover setup would be the ultimate.
I'm in a similar situation. I'm running leafs in the back (with ridetech HQ shocks, which are awesome). And just got the full coilover setup for the front. |
Re: Running coil overs, and coil springs?
it will be fine with coilovers in the front and the factory style coil springs and shocks in the rear. I would run a 3" spring with a 2" block instead of the 5" spring.
I'm running the old cpp coilover setup on the back of mine and I definitely prefer it to coils and shocks because of the adjustability. with the springs being available in 10# increments its easy to tailor the ride exactly to how you want it |
Re: Running coil overs, and coil springs?
I didn't know cpp made a coilover kit?

Re: Running coil overs, and coil springs?
it's been discontinued for a while but they still come up for sale from time to time.
the CPP setup mounts the shocks off the back of the arms outside the frame |
Re: Running coil overs, and coil springs?
Should be fine with coilovers in the front and springs in the rear, my 98 Toyota is set up that way and rides great.
