1967 Bone Stock Underhood Pics
I am restoring a 1967, 250ci, 4 speed, C10 into the bone-stock truck like I had in high school. No modifications, base model, painted bumpers, radio delete, lighter delete, the whole (cheap) nine yards.
I am very curious about colors, finishes, decal placement, wire routing, firewall inspection marks, etc., etc. If you have any correct stock photos specific to 1967 showing anything mentioned or anything else you think might be helpful I'd be appreciative. Thanks in advance! Steve |
Re: 1967 Bone Stock Underhood Pics
i have dash pics if you need those.
i also have a bone stock 67 but im adding disk and power brakes p steer etc. i dont know of any decals on a 67 250 other than the one on the air cleaner depending on which plant it came from, same with the marks. it depends on where it was assembled. the firewall will be the same color as the cab and the inner fenders and rad support should be a flat black. i can also send pics of my firewall if you need them |

Thanks for the welcome! Just interested in all things stock I guess. I'm not too worried about correctness for the VIN or specific to the truck, just a representation of what stock looked like.
Just as a point of reference, the last restoration I did was on a 1929 Model A. There are publications that specify every nut and bolt's finish, the placement of every single wire, the variations in build from month to month of production...EVERYTHING. This project has me guessing as I am sure there were many "right" ways that things were done and they were not all documented as they were in the case of a simple vehicle like the Model A. Attached are pics of the high-school ride (Old Blue) and the one I'm working on to make it into a copy of Old Blue. |

Go look at my photo albums. I have plenty of pictures of my 68 stepper. It's all original 22,000 mile truck. Original paint, engine and interior.

Re: 1967 Bone Stock Underhood Pics
There was a guy on here with a thread the other day that showed his Grandpas 67 that has 32 miles. Yeah, 32!
If any truck could be the Bible about how stock should look, it would be his. Here's the link. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=665004 |

Michael: No, I do not. I wish I did. I am looking for those items as that is the was it was when I was a kid.
67 cst swb: I think the mind is made up to go blue. The color is really more an orange than red in real life. Trust me, I have been toying with the idea... CST10: I'll check out your album. Thanks!! Sklptrljay: I did see that thread. Awesome truck. What a prize to own. |

Here is a little something, a factory photo when new. I've said this before, IMO, I believe the original engine color was more of a red-orange, not the Chevy orange color which is so common today. Time, weather and engine heat have away of toning down colors, especially under the hood. Note, engine paint still has not burned off manifold. Inner fenders were semi-gloss, while accessories such as air cleaner and oil cap were gloss black.

I know mines a 68 but I thought you'd appreciate what it looked like anyway. Notice the hood prop since the springs were gone.
Also "Dirt" you should let the East Coast guys in here know, especially the New York City guys, that's NOT a Rat you caught livin' in your truck. |
