Electric fan wiring
 
hooking up electric fan on 69 C10. Using Painless wiring kit. Says hook grey wire to "switched power."what wire coming off ignition switch should I use? Where is best place to access wire ?

Inside the cab on the fuse panel there are unused terminals marked ignition unfused. Use a test light to confirm.

It all depends on how you want the fans to function. Do you have AC on the truck? Are you running dual fans are just a singal?What size fan are fans? How much air does it move?:chevy:

Sounds as if he wants it to turn on either with IGN on or, its just to make the relay for the fan "live" until a temp switch grounds the relay to provide power to the fan(s). Just a guess tho. Inside the cab is acceptable, just make sure to route the IGN source wire through the firewall in a manner that won't cause it to ground out against anything sharp or it'll kill more than your fan relay.
