Source for NoSpin parts?
5 Attachment(s)
Looking for a single spring retainer for an early NoSpin (Detroit Locker) for a HO52/72. Looks like someone tried to "repair" a cracked one but not very well.
Any leads appreciated |
Re: Source for NoSpin parts?
Contact board member tll74 or DLTruck1973.
They are actually one in the same and should be able to help you with any part or service you need on a rear end. Thank you, Tom |
Re: Source for NoSpin parts?
I believe Eaton still supplies parts. check any differential merchant like Randy's Ring & Pinion. try googling Detroit Locker replacement parts.

Re: Source for NoSpin parts?
No luck at Randys or Tom so still looking.

Re: Source for NoSpin parts?
Contact Eaton directly. If they don't sell to public they can give you a dealer contact. Maybe parts stock is depleted, but I read a while back Eaton was where you get parts
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...,d.eXY&cad=rja I should try myself. I have a No-Spin that I somehow lost one of the springs to. I pulled it because of an issue and I suspect it was a spring or both. That may be what caused your side gear issue...weak spring? Mine acted like a go cart, one side was solid full-time locked. It was worse than bias. It wouldn't back up in gravel if there was any slope to it. I just popped another one in, but would like to get this one together. |
Re: Source for NoSpin parts?
I have emailed Eaton with no response so far.
With a new 14 bolt detroit costing $425 and easily sourcing some 14 bolt axles it may be the better way to go but I REALLY would like to make this work. Thanks If you were to consider selling your partial unit let me know |
Re: Source for NoSpin parts?
Finally got a response from Eaton, no luck.
Any partial lockers wanted |
Re: Source for NoSpin parts?
I don't understand how they could have no replacement parts unless they scrapped them. I mean, both HO52s and No-Spins have reputations for being bulletproof even still, after 43 years.

Re: Source for NoSpin parts?
They said "I am sorry but this style of unit has not been made it a long time and there are no parts available."
Randys also said no parts available. I asked for a quote for a 14 bolt detroit and axles and they replied with $1300 plush shipping! A detroit and axles are only $800 at Summit with free shipping. I could save some cash shopping around on CL or yard on the axles and save $300. As much as I want to keep the HO52 under the burb the 14 bolt is looking better all the time |
Re: Source for NoSpin parts?
i hear you. I'm a diehard HO52/No-Spin guy. Seeing this day come I have grabbed rears where I found them. I may be good to go or I may find myself stuck in this situation one day. I guess that's why I'm also hanging tight with a same ratio 14-bolt I had planned to put in my '85 Jimmy when I put the Dana60 in, but just sold it as is

Re: Source for NoSpin parts?
If time isn't a big issue post a WTB on the parts board. I know an HO with a NoSPin was advertised in the recent past for sale. I was able to locate the parts I needed for my HO52 with some scrounging and some help from the folks here. Good luck.
