18x9" 5"BS on front?

Good morning all,

I am going to order wheels this week for my 72. Right now it has stock front spindles that the PO has cut to lower the front slightly. I am eventually going to get a set of drop spindles and springs or air ride on the truck. My question is, will as 18x9" with a 5" backspace with a 255/50/18 fit on the front? I want to run a square setup front and back.

My current wheel/tire combo is a set of 15x8 4.5" BS Centerlines with 295/50/15 tires all around that the PO put on.

Thanks!

Thanks. Crunching the numbers, they fit. I wanted to see what other members were running to get some real world numbers.

They will work fine, my old wheels were 18x9 with 4.5 bs on all four. Your wheels will be 1/2 tucked in further..

If you haven't checked this online tool out yet, I highly recommend it. I use it all the time. It's very helpful. http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp

Also, I'm not sure if it's intentional, but the tires you say you have are 26.7" tall and the tires you say you want are 28.1" tall. Are you sure the sizes you listed are correct? Your speedometer will read faster with the 18s you have listed.

The PO put these tires on. They are too short for my taste. My speedo reads fast with the short tires. I am killing two birds with one stone with a taller tire.

The Rimsntires site is a great tool! I have been using it for years as a quick check on offsets.

That's a good looking truck you have there!
