new guy
hello to all, have been looking around here for a while and find it my kind of place, thanks for letting me be a part of it. I would like to pick your brain a little about front disk brakes kits from speedway on a stock axle. will they work with the stock master cylinder on a 53 3100. thanks for the help if anyone knows.

Re: new guy
Welcome, fellow Arkansan.
Most people change out the master cylinder for a 2 piston type, even if they keep drum brakes and don't add power. This is done for safety's sake so that if there's a failure there's less chance of loosing brakes completely. I've got a '54 in the shop right now that we used the Classic Performance kit on. Dual piston m/c, power booster, wheel bearing conversion and disc brakes while keeping the 6 lug wheel pattern so you can still rotate your tires. You're welcome to come on up and take a look some time. |
