These bolted on with no mods. They will be coming off for some steel wheels soon.Attachment 1425679

Re: late model wheels?
Pretty much any 6x5.5 bolt patten will work, just depends on the size of the center hole. I'm running 6lug steels from a Toyota FJ

Re: late model wheels?
The GMT400 6 hole wheels will NOT fit on the older trucks because:
1) the center hole is too small, but you could cut them out 2) the backspacing is totally different and the wheel will hit the tie rod end on the front, and maybe the leaf springs on the back Don't ask me how I know :( |

Re: late model wheels?
What does GMT 400 mean?
|
Re: late model wheels?
GMT400 is the '88-98 Chevy and GMC trucks.

Anyway, that's when they went back to the 16" wheels for half tons. |
Re: late model wheels?
I have had success fitting up 2004 GMS 17" rims onto my 65. I used some 2" adapters to get the back spacing and stud size correct. I picked them up from eBay.

Might be all right for a show truck, but adaptors have a bad reputation on the 4x4 forums. I sure don't need my damn wheels falling off of a 6000 pound Suburban :( |
Re: late model wheels?
I run 1.5" wheel spacers on my JK 4dr, weighs around 5500Lbs, 5.5" lift, long arms & 37s, and it's a daily driver, and never had a problem with wheel studs, loose wheels or dangerous anything. Just make sure they are torqued properly and some red Locktight helps too.
I'll probably need to throw some 1" spacers on my rears on the 65, I don't see any issues. |
