Radiator Question

I'm looking into radiator options for my 56 GMC. The truck will be running a SBC 350. I am hoping to just have the stock one boiled out and fixed up. If it needs it, re-cored. Should that be a big enough radiator?

Re: Radiator Question

A good clean original radiator will work fine for a stock to mild 350 with a good fan and shroud. However....., If your rad needs to be re-cored I would buy a new champion unless you want to keep the original look. You can get a brand new one with built in trans cooler for under $200.

I got one out of a big truck (1.5 ton and larger) that is in good shape. 1" thicker and deeper, bolts up to the small truck core support. I run a shroud and have never had an over heating problem, even with the stock 6 cylinder one.

Thanks guys. Also, thanks for not jumping down my throat for posting this on the wrong page. I just realized that I accidentally posted it here... :dohh:

I'm going to throw it on the main one just for the heck of it.

Thanks again!
