A shocking Question:
Rear Shock Mounting Configuration-
Both shocks mounted forward/rearward or both on rear axle. Does it matter? I have seen it all three ways over the years. I don't want guesses but answers based on logic/fact as to why. The 14FF I'm putting in my 69 is different than the stock fwd shock mounts. I either move one frame mount or one axle mount. Prefer to have them both forward for gas tank clearance behind the axle. Thanks in advance for your replies. |
Re: A shocking Question:
Staggered shocks (one forward, one rearward) are an attempt to control rear axle hop and tramp.

I might not have enough motor with my CUCV 1-1/4 ton suspension the cause axle hop anyways:lol: |
Re: A shocking Question:
its part of the heavy duty suspension group that was standard of cucv's in military contracts. does not use standard shocks but a pair of shocks that have considerably less stifness. Two standard shocks will stiffen the suspension alot and make it very stiff and even painfull over bumps. they fit but they stiffen the ride and nothing else.
