One piece floor question
 

Hi everyone, this question is for those that have installed a one piece floor. About how many hours did it take you to complete once the old floor is removed. I've got to tackle this project and was just looking for ballpark estimate. I've also to install both cab corner, both pillars by kick panels, both kick panels, outter rockers, and firewall. Here is a pic where I currently am.

After the old floor is out, it shouldn't take that long. It only took me and a buddy around an hour to get it welded in.

Thx for the feedback, anyone else have similar experience? Also what kind of total time y'all think I'm looking at for everything I listed

Speed kills, take your time and do it right the first time. Rushing to get the job done only causes mistakes, enjoy the challenge of doing the restore. If you have a spot welder it should go faster. Post up pics, getting the area around the trans tunnel, seems to give most people problems

When I did it for a friend, it took weeks

WOW!!! looks like My Nova when I back halfed it. You did a good job supporting it!! If time is problem you shouldn't be doing it in the first place.Take your time and do it right!!!Have fun and learn something ! I do everyday1!!!

Thats a pretty cool method of lifting the cab youve got there. I dont think ive seen anything like that before.

57task force, it was a quick set up too, so that was a plus. I definitely will take time to do it right because I know you'll pay for it if not. Thx for all the Input. I'll post some pics once the cab is finished up!

The only problem I see is that you won t be able to install you re doors with the bracing in the way,JMHO

Jim, I was thinking With the rear pillars being original that height for the floor is good. Also, the front pillars should not have budged a bit since they were braced. Before I started the resto the doors open and closed like a charm. So I'm hoping that once the floor is tacked in and cub is supported I can take braces off and begin to fit doors to make sure the height of the floor is right. Thoughts?

Hoping is not a good thing with gaps, fitting doors before final weld of floor is what I would recommend. If you can change bracing to fit doors, now is the time. I only had two braces, back wall of cab to the firewall, and that kept it in place while I massaged the floor in place, gaps ARE critical

That is why you really need to take LOTS of measurments.
An error of 1/8th inch on one end can mean a huge problem on the other end.
