Disc brakes with stock 15" wheels

1 Attachment(s)
Anyone know of a kit that will work with a set of stock 15" wheels? Looking for front kits specifically, not going to get into the rears for now.

I like the look of the wheels now, I would just like to be able to stop.

FYI, '69 c-10, stock 6 lug wheels.

There are aftermarket kits that allow you to convert to 6 lug disc. Check with the Forum Vendors in the Marketplace for more info.

Even with the aftermarket 6- lug disc brake kits,... You won't be able to use your stock front 6-lug wheels. They don't have enough clearance for the the disc brake caliper. There is a ton on info on this sight about this very subject.
You will need a 71-87 4x4 wheel to clear the caliper.
Not a big deal, you just have to find these 4-nub oem wheels.

Look at ECE for disc conversion parts.

You said in an old thread that all the wheel vintages work. All of them? I want to run a 15x6 steelie up front with 3.75" back spacing. Will that work or should I suck it up and scope out some 17/18's?

Wheel Vintiques wheels will clear the disc brake caliper.
I have 15x7's with a 4" backspace on my red '69.
But I trim the lower a-arm at the balljoint.
3.75" BS should not be an issue.

They (wheel vintiques 15x6) don't fit with my new disc brakes. Back to the drawing board. At least I checked before I painted them.

What is "not clearing"?
Caliper?
Lower a-arm?

Caliper doesn't fit in the wheel. I just loose fit it on the floor so no idea about the rest of the geometry yet. Might do some more measuring this weekend and see if I can get by with a spacer for just a bit to buy me some time before I pick out some larger wheels.

A lot of the aftermarket calipers have excess casting on them that can easily be ground off if there is a rub somewhere.
I've never had issues with Wheel Vintiques wheels.

Captain fab makes parts for a 15" rim and everything fits well. He's on this site

I will mess around with it today and see if a spacer might give me enough clearance for now. I am going to go bigger wheels later so it might be a reasonable solution to what will be a temporary problem.
