Stock 15" wheels and disc brakes

1 Attachment(s)
Anyone know of a kit that will work with a set of stock 15" wheels? Looking for front kits specifically, not going to get into the rears for now.

I like the look of the wheels now, I would just like to be able to stop.

FYI, '69 c-10, stock 6 lug wheels.

I don't believe the stock 15" 6-lug rims will clear the disc brakes.

Correct - those will not work with a stock disk setup or any kit. You need 71+ K5/K10 15" rims, at a minimum. They are 15", 6 lug, and clear the caliper. Or you can search for the even more rare 6 lug 16" wheels - there are a few out there still.

did go with that stock spindle conversion plate CPP and Classic Perform have, good way to convert over...but I wanted to have the option with drop spindles. so I went that route....not sure if you want to do that...

i have a front disc conversion kit i purchased. I have a set of 15" x 8" steelie rims from a 4x4 that i want to use. so will these work with the conversion kit?

Re: Stock 15" wheels and disc brakes

depends on the kit. they should work if the conversion kit utilizes stock-size rotors/calipers. big disk kits usually require bigger diameter wheels in addition to the normal extra space for a stock caliper inside the k5/10 wheels.

I have a 1972 GMC. I have 15" x 8" slotted mag wheels on the front of my truck. To get them to clear the calipers, I had to do a little grinding on the backs of calipers. Mainly the casting seam area. So it is possible to fit 15" wheels on a disc brake rig.

not to beat a dead horse, but you could use these perfect rims, sell the brand new tires, and, well, voila. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=677292
