Thinking Of Thinning The Herd

1 Attachment(s)
Well, I'm thinking of selling one of my trucks and really don't know what to ask. So looking for some input on what yall think its worth. If I buy another one something gotta go to make room. This truck is very reliable and a good driver.

It's a 1970 CST 10 LWB. White paint in decent shape. I little rust starting to pop out at the bottom of the doors. It has a 462 CI engine with roughly 480 TQ and 435 HP mated to a Turbo 350 with a 3.07 rear gear. Power steering, vintage AC system, AM/FM radio, power drum brakes that have been completely replaced. 2/4 drop, rally wheels. Runs great, drives great, a real good DD.

I've attached a few pictures below.

I have no price suggestion for you but thats a great looking truck. I would find it hard to part with.

Yes it's hard to decide between the 2 I have and the race car. Just seeing what the general price range would be if I have to sell, that's if I buy this other one I'm looking at.

The reason I guess it would be this one is I've pretty much finished it and now looking for another project, as now all I do is drive it around. I enjoy working on them just as much as driving them. Crazy I know.

Lol. Funny. Well I added everything I put into the truck engine and tranny (both have about 3500 miles) and just that was $7000.

Still ain't for sure I'm sell it, just wondering what people think its value is since there is no NADA for older vehicles. Can't go by inflated Barrett Jackson/mecum auction prices cause they are in my opinion on the very high side.

Yea, if I get another truck that I'm looking at Friday it's going to be a tough decision between this truck or ol Goldilocks the 68. Goldilocks has several standing offers for her, so I kinda have an idea on her price if that one was to go out the door.

Ok, Ill bite - 12 to 17K. I would have to look at it close and any records that you would have on it.
Gotta remember - it always looks prettier when your selling it.

I'm going out on a limb here, because I always feel my trucks are worth way more than I can ever get for them. Heck, my wife says that I feel there worth it in my head because my butt sat in them, I say show me another @ that price. My thoughts are $12,500 for the truck plus new goodies. See I knew you'd scoff!! ;-))

I kinda agree with that range. I know its a big range, but without seeing it in person, knowing what the market or say general normal condition of similar vehicles in your area is, its hard to get much closer. Maybe a little more to just the right buyer, probably less to others.

See that's about the number I had in my head. Between 12-14K.

A 79' C10 low mileage engine/tranny rebuild, fresh paint and interior, swb. Just a clean square body. Just another toy my wife says. Lol.

Your right on the region part. Lots of them cruisin round here. More square body's though.

You have more pics of interior and inside bed? Any rust issues?

And is mechanically sound enough to drive from your home to mine? :)

As far as mechanical, I have drove it to "Cruisin the Coast" several times. That is very abusive as it's about 500-600 miles in a week for me to drive it there and back and there is TONS of traffic jams with over 7000 cars registered for the show. No overheating or anything. Fires up right away every time. Mechanically, I would not hesitate in driving it anywhere in any weather condition coast to coast.

The bed has a liner in it, with normal minor bed rust, but not rot.

The bottom of the doors where water gets in from the window felt has a couple of small rust spots starting, so prolly in the next few years that may have to be tended too.

The interior is dam near perfect, seat is nice and dash is nice. Has black seat and carpet along with door panels.

Interior pictures and bed pictures I don't have, but can take if needed.

Super nice truck man! 14-16k around here, you've already done the expensive powertrain area. Hows the interior?

Interior is almost perfect, a few little scratches on the dash but hardly noticeable unless your looking for them.

Everyday EBay send me any 67-72 that has been listed the day before. I check everyday and I feel 12/14k is the number. There are lots that go on EBay and don't look as good as yours and the asking and reserves are a lot of times in the upper teens and they usualy do not sell. I find the more original ( looking ) they are ,the better they sell. To me your truck has very practical upgrades and would make a great turnkey truck for someone.
