Time to replace front coils - suggestions
1 Attachment(s)
Getting ready to replace upper and lower ball joints and figured I might as well replace the springs while I'm at it. Already bought MOOG ball joints.
Advice/experience with replacement coils...what's the best brand? A little worried it's going to sit too high. Can I drop 1" without any issues. It's my only daily driver, original powertrain w/3OTT. Front and rear sway bars. Future upgrades, automatic transmission and 15x8 steelies. leaning toward: http://www.classicindustries.com/pro...ts/cs6104.html or: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/more...nid=523&jpid=3 |
Re: Time to replace front coils - suggestions
Early classic enterprises is a great company for springs, and other suspension parts as well. 1" drop won't affect anything, and chances are, your stock springs are already sagging close to an inch, maybe a bit more. If you have the means, you should pull a coil out, measure, then call and confirm a measurement for whatever springs your looking to purchase.

Cool, I'll check them out.
Yeh figured it's sitting a bit lower now, kinda like the height it sits now. I'll probably bite the bullet and do some measuring before buying. Doing a little reading looks like I should go with a Variable Rate spring. thanks |

I've used moog 6082 many times. It is a smaller wire diameter, rides softer , found it to sit slightly lower than others. Bob
