What would be the yellow paint mark on the water pump pulley used for?
Just curious as I noted it when I removed it. thanks

I would think that there should also be one on your clutch fan hub as well. IMO that is where it was lined up when it was originally assembled & torqued. An original unrestored Corvette I tore into a couple years ago was that way & that is the way I put it back when I reassembled it.

I'm sorry it was on the water pump housing where it mates up to the pulley. Not sure if the pulley was marked as I bead blasted and painted it.
So, this just indentifed that it was torqued? it was just one yellow small blop of paint just above one nut on the housing. |

I'm sorry -I'm still not seeing a pic.
At this point it could be anything but without seeing it I would have to say either an alignment mark or paint dot denoting the fasteners had been torqued (as previously mentioned). K |
