Re: post pictures of belts
Looks like your power steering belt and alternator aren't aligned properly, get a pulley remover, line up your power steering belt, and adjust your alternator then give that a shot. Slight chance you also have the belt a bit too tight as well.

Re: post pictures of belts
Your P/S belt is not in alignment.

Re: post pictures of belts
I can see that the pic is not centered up on the P.S belts so i'll take your word on its alignmenmt, the alternator looks like its front is dropped down a little from what i can tell by turning my head sideways... Usually the pully with the least amount of contact is the culpret, ie water pump pulley.
The squeal i get (sbc350) has always been the alternator belt, no matter how much i try to align, new belts different pulleys, different mount bracket, i still get a little squeal. |
Re: post pictures of belts
thanks for pointing out the alternator i never noticed that,i guess i will try a serpentine kit.

Re: post pictures of belts
IMO
Base on your pic, your P/S pulley isn't aligned right. If you look at your pic where your harmonic balancer says 30, go straight down in that pic. You'll see that your belt is bending back because your P/S pulley is back far than the harmonic balancer pulley. |
