engine horsepower estimate

Hey Guys, i have been a member on here for a while but haven't posted much. wondering if someone could help me with estimating the HP of my new motor.

Here are the details i know of
350 chevy block bored .30 over
stock crank
extreme energy XE274H-10 comp cam
stock rods
roller rockers
flat top pistons
Edelbrock performer 6073 heads that have been decked
Edelbrock performer air gap intake
Holley 750 carb that i need to jet back a bit

Re: engine horsepower estimate

The Performer heads will easily support 1HP per cube. Sounds like a well built motor, if cylinder seal is good I'm sure you have made or exceeded that.

Re: engine horsepower estimate

If compression is at 10-1ish I will say 375hp and 415ft lbs of torque. Lower compression and the numbers drop. As Marv stated its a good combo and you didn't over cam your setup. It should be a good runner. Regardless of the actual dyno numbers the seat of the pants dyno should be happy. That combo is going to like a lot of timing though. I wouldn't be surprised if it wants 36-38 total at 3k rpm and likely 16-18 at idle.

thanks for the reply guys. looking forward to getting this motor in and running. it's replacing a tired out 283 so i am sure the "seat pant dyno" will be much different than the old motor.
