Edelbrock carb/intake combo

ok im getting the crate 350 gm engine in a week or so and i was wondering how good of gas mileage i would get with a 600cfm edelbrock performer series carb and say either a edelbrock performer or performer rpm manifold. im goin for gas mileage till i repay my loan then ill add more performance parts:D. or if anyone has a really good suggestion on a carb/intake combo for gas mileage i would appreciate suggestions.

The 600/Performer combo is a great combo for gas mileage and daily driveability. It depends on a lot more than that though. How big of a cam does it have? (Just stock I assume)
Depends on what tranny you have and what your rear gears are and what your tire size is...here's my stats
650/Performer/SMALL Cam
TH350/4.11's/28" Tire
10mpg. (But this 10mpg has been attained via me tuning the PISS outta the carb with my Wideband Oxygen Sensor. Now, when I'm idling or cruiseing I'm at a perfect 14.5:1, which unless you have a wideband, you will never get dead on.)
BTW: Are you getting the "GoodWrench 350" Crate motor for $1300? If you are, that's basically the motor I have, with a bit more compression and bore.

yea im getting the gm goodwrench 350 crate engine for 1300, possibly the kit for 1800 which is a performer intake and a 625cfm carter carb, malory hei dist. and chrome valve covers.my stats are, th350/dont know the rear end gears/and stock size tires.(sometime i want to goto a 700r4 with 4.11 gears)

255/70 R15's

Hmm, if you don't already have a carb or intake, then the kit for $1800 would be a good deal. Is that assembled all together? A Carter Carb is Edelbrock now...with the warranty on that motor it makes it a good deal for a nice driver. :)

That's the motor I am using. I did change the cam out before I put it in. You may want to go with the Performer EPS, they say it produces a little more horsepower. I'm satisfied with mine....for now.

I've got the ZZ4 on mine with the Performer RPM like intake that came with it and a Edelbrock 600 on it. With my setup I get 13-14 miles a gallon.

I would pass on the performer intake. It is no better power wise or MPG wise as a stock piece. It is just made as a alternative to stock parts for everday drivers. At least get the rpm intake.

ok so i decided to go with the edel. performer eps intake, the 600cfm performer carb elec. choke, the fuel line kit, and a wood 1" spacer. i also went ahead and picked up a accell high performance hei replacement dist. , moroso blue max spiral core plug wires, and the moroso wire loom kit. all this came to 675.52 from jegs.
