Anyone using the 4.3L V6 in a 47-54
is anyone using the 4.3L V6 with the S10 swap in a 47-54 pickup? looking for a picture or two to see how small that thing will look in there. did you have to move the mounts at all?

this is moved back 5 inches on a 47, doing it again on a 49 and moving it 7 inches so the s10 clutch fan will fit this time

Re: Anyone using the 4.3L V6 in a 47-54
when moving it back 7 inches, how much goes into the fire wall? did you have to fab your motor mounts? sorry for all the questions, but i got a hold of a 86 4.3L 4bc quadrajet with only 23k miles on it, and i want to make it work.

7 inches wont hit the firewall at all. we made mounts like v8 swap mounts that slid the factory clamshell mounts back 5 inches.

I moved mine back 5" and still had plenty of room for the original fan. the only difference is that I slanted my 'stock' radiator forward at the bottom to clear the S10 steering box.

Looks good, i think i will go 5" back but use electric fans on the radiator to free up some hp on the engine.

I just cut off the original mounts and welded them back on 5" farther back and then filled in the gaps with scrap metal.
