Which Blazer is the most DESIREABLE??
 

I know "everyone" will have an opinion..and different tastes, but I was just wondering which of the 69-72's is the most desireable (am I spelling that right?!? desireable??..oh well) Surely there is one year that is more sought after than another. Since I'm a newbee at this, I'll ask the experts... Also, why would this particular year be the most expensive and or popular??

Also, is the GMC model worth more or less?

If I could have any Blazer/Jimmy- it would be a 72 CST/Sierra Grande, 2wd with all the goodies ( tach, tilt,ac, single wall top, etc )
72 because it's the last production year and Disc brakes up front.

2wd because they are rare, ride better, lighter, faster and just plain cool. I'm not gonna be wheelin in my old blazer anyway so why have all the headaches of a front drive train?

Since I'm dreaming , I'll put a 67 Chev front clip on it and it will have it's own garage stall ,so the top will never be on it, again

I have to agree because I do have a 72CST 2wd. Even though Im a little bit biased I think just having disc up front is worth having the 72 all by itself. Even though mine needs ton of work I get offers all the time to trade for much newer trucks or to sell. I do like the 67 pickup front ends a little better so I may convert mine. No matter what year just get one and have fun!

I have a 71 with disks up front! But I would say the 70 2wd would be the most rare due to the extremely low production numbers and it being the first year produced.

Well, mine is an original 1971 GMC Jimmy Custom, 4WD, with Tilt, Tach, AC & Disc Brakes in the front. It is listed on the option/build sheet pasted to the glove box lid...

It says Sierra Grande on the option sheet?

72' Blazer Highlanders are rare. Only one
year and most loaded with all the goodies.

My personal preference would be a 1970 CST with optional disc brakes (if they were available on 4x4). If not, oh well. 292/4 speed, a/c, tilt, tach, etc.

However, the 292 and the discs were not 1970 Blazer options.

I've got a 72 Blazer CST Highlander (Just found out it is a Highlander), but I really like the GMC grill. When my rich uncle gets out of the poorhouse I'd like to have a Jimmy to go along with the blazer.

I like the '72's. Probably since I've got a Blazer and LWB in the satble already. Now i need the 'burbon and the collection will be complete (or will it just be getting started??)

Are you sure on the 292? the only reason I ask is that on coloradok5's specifications page, they list the 292 as available in 1970 and 1971, but not '69 or '72, then it comes back for '73 and continues for a few more years in the new body style.
the discs I wasnt sure on, I have seen some '70 2wd pickups that had optional discs, I would guess they were made later in the production run, and thought it would be neat if they appeared on a 4x4.

Wouldn't the 1969 first production (#1 off the assembly line) be the most valuable?

Question: Is the Highlander option just added features on a 1972? What would the extra options include that the CST package does not?

My Highlander was evidently messed up by a previous owner. As far as I know the only difference is the seats. Mine should look like Hatguy's. Somebody changed out the seats so I couldn't tell it was a highlander. What other things came with the highlander option?

Yes the plaid came in 4 colors
orange, red, green, gray & blue.
I nees to replace the white vinal
on the front seats. Two different
shops have said they can do that.
back seat has been ib storage 16
years and only has 1 small rip on
the side.

There is a Blazer with the plaid interior on e-bay right now. Maybe it is a highlander?

Does anyone make any reproduction Highlander interior?? Sounds like some nice interior. I'd like to have that type.

HatGuy....since you have one, is this the only difference between a CST and a Highlander is the interior seats? Any help would be great.
