Re: Power steering box mounting bolts

Neither of my 1972 and 1969 trucks have a spacer. I've removed at least a half dozen steering boxes off of 1967 to 1972 trucks... never seen a spacer. Sorry... no clue.

Yea I'm thinking it's not used in this case because Ithe power steering box sits flat up against the frame. I know it came off with this steering box but I could have been on the inside of the frame rail to acomodate the longer bolt, one bolt is 2 " the other are 1 1/4".should I just put it on the inside?

I'd just get a shorter bolt and ditch the spacer.

I don't know the reasoning for it but the spacer goes on the inside of the frame. Mine is in the front bottom hole and I don't think it has ever been apart.

Front bottom hole facing the front of the truck, looking from inside the frame rail?
