Help me figure out what Steering Stabilizers I need

What started as "I want to clean up my engine bay" turned into a taking the dang engine out and painted everything... :ito:

While I am deep in it I figured I should replace the shocks and the steering stabilizer. Here's a picture of what's on my 72 Blazer.

Should it have both of these? I was thinking it should only have one the black one. If so can I take the yellow one off and just buy a new black one? Or should I replace both?

You should only need one. Sometimes people put two on because of having large tires. What size are you running?

Right now there are 31 on there but I am putting 33" with stock height. This will not be trailed just for street.

I run a single with 33" tires, no problem.

x2 - ditch the yellow one. The tie rod bracket for the black one looks to be OEM, keep that. Rockauto recently had usa made examples for a good price.

Sometimes people will install two because of other problems. Check your ball joints, tie rod ends and drag link ends for wear. One stabilizer should be sufficient for 33" tires.

Since the thread is handy - I ordered one for my 2WD Longhorn. Does it make any sense to run them on a 2WD? Since my 1975 Monte Carlo was clearly 2WD and it had one from the factory, I figure they must provide some benefit.

I do have a little bit of "hunting" on center on the highway, even freshly aligned. But no death wobble from railroad tracks yet... but I think that might only be a 4WD thing, no?

Basically, I have one but haven't installed it because I don't know if it'll provide a benefit.

I'm not sure of a noticeable benefit but it won't hurt it either.
