Removing 72 E-Brake handle...

Is there a trick to this? Or is this a cut off operation?

There's 2 nuts on firewall (engine side) and 1 nut under dash. I think you need to remove a number of dash bolts in order to be able to flex the dash enough to get the assembly out because it still has the studs.

Don't need to remove bolts it should be able to shift sideways enough to remove it.

I had a devil of a time taking mine out, I took out the three bolts on the drivers side of the dash and that gave me ample room to flex it out.
Going back in was almost as difficult.

The handle is barb fit on the rod. Mine broke trying to remove it. Bought a replacement.

I believe he was referring to removal of the pedal assembly, and I'm pretty sure the black plastic "T-handle"(that says brake release) is threaded.

I should have been more clear....was really asking about the black release handle, not the pedal assembly.

Just unscrew it, the release rod is threaded.
