8 foot LED shop light install videos
https://youtu.be/0-Jm0DLJwhM
Not the greatest video as I was in a hurry but these are definitely a great value. I got them off eBay for $30 each. Initial testing shows one strip puts out a close to the same lumens (light intensity) as the original two T12 fixtures. Here is another video of 5 strips installed. They run directly off 120 volts and draw almost now current. I chose these because they use a common3 pin power cord off a hp style laptop. They come with a 12 inch power pigtail but I temporarily wired them using old lamp cords till the new molded power cords arrive. https://youtu.be/5c5PPFlq9Hg |

I got four 4ft long ones for around $11 each on ebay, pretty bright. Mostly bought them to see the quality, thinking of becoming a distributor since they work pretty good.

Lastly, for the cheapskates out there you can build these for about $15 each. Just not as pretty. I zip tied and taped the strips to a 8 foot 1x1 board and ran it off a 12 volt power supply. The strip drew 2.2 amps.

Using your linc, 10 lights are $332.49. That's $300 ,ore than $30.00. Did someone oopps a decimal place?
The linc is confusing. Are these replacement lights or stand alone lights? The add says "use power cord" and later it say to "remove or bypass the original ballast and starter" |
Re: 8 foot LED shop light install videos
They sell several versions. The link is for 10 standalone bulbs that use a 3 prong laptop style or 2 pin electric shaver style power cord if you dont want to run a ground. They are standalone in that they dont need a fixture, tombstones or any kind of end brackets. They include a plug in 12 inch power pigtail.
The other versions are if you want to use existing fixtures, removing the ballast and connecting power through the bulb end terminals. I wanted to use the simpler version and remove my metal fixtures entirely. They also come with small metal brackets to screw directly to the ceiling and the tube aluminum back snaps into it fir a flush mount on ceiling. These weigh less than 1 pound each nut are very rigid and wont flex much. |
